MANAMA: The Entrepreneurs’ Organization of Bahrain (EO Bahrain) has successfully concluded the Farouk Almoayyed Global Student Entrepreneurship Award (GSEA Bahrain), showcasing the Kingdom’s rising stars in innovation and business.
The competition featured eight finalists from various universities, demonstrating a high level of entrepreneurial maturity and scalability. Mohammed Mahdi from the University of Bahrain secured first place for his project, “Petrolas.” Omar Saba from the American University of Bahrain took second place for “Vivid Algorithms,” while Mustafa Al-Ani (American University of Bahrain) and Jad Al-Khoury (BIBF) tied for third place with their respective projects in real estate and technology.
The projects were evaluated by a high-level judging panel from the public and private sectors, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and economic impact. The award was organized through a strategic partnership with Almoayyed Computers Middle East (ACME).
Mr. Farid Bader, Chairman of EO Bahrain, noted that the award—inspired by the legacy of the late Farouk Almoayyed—serves as a pivotal platform for empowering the next generation of business leaders. “We are proud of the level achieved by the students and look forward to seeing these projects become true success stories,” he stated.
Mr. Bob Thacker, Head of the GSEA Program in Bahrain, added that the diversity and quality of the projects reflect the successful growth of a culture of entrepreneurship among Bahraini youth.
The GSEA is a flagship global initiative of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, designed to support students who manage businesses while pursuing their degrees. The Bahrain chapter of EO currently consists of 37 members managing companies with a combined turnover exceeding $120 million, employing approximately 3,900 people.
