MANAMA: The Kerala Social and Cultural Association (KSCA) organized its annual Onam celebration, “Poovili 2026,” with grand festivities at Adhari Park. The event commenced with a ceremonial reception for King Mahabali, accompanied by traditional Panchavadyam and drum performances by the Sopanam Vadya Sangham.
The formal meeting was presided over by KSCA President Rajesh Nambiar, with General Secretary Dr. Bindu Nair delivering the welcome address. Chief guest R. Ramesh praised the global Malayali community for its discipline and social commitment, while title sponsor Jayanthan highlighted the exemplary unity of expatriates. Prominent community leaders, including Pampavasan Nair, alongside representatives from various associations, attended the event.
During the function, SNCS Chairman Suneesh Susheelan and KSCA member Narayanan were honored for their contributions to the event’s success. Poovili General Convener Ajayakrishnan addressed the gathering, and Vice President Anilkumar U.K. delivered the vote of thanks. The official proceedings were anchored by Sandeep and Dr. Gouri.
The cultural segment featured Thiruvathira and cinematic dance performances by members and their families. The celebration concluded with a live musical performance by the popular music band “Rubber Band.”
