MANAMA: Students from both the Isa Town and Riffa campuses of The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) have earned national recognition by securing spots in the ‘India Book of Records 2026’ across diverse fields.
Class 12 student Dhanhyam Shyam achieved a major milestone by becoming the youngest person to serve as an umpire in a BWF World Championship match at the age of 17. Invited by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation, he officiated as an international official during the BWF Para Badminton World Championship held in Bahrain in February 2026.
Three students from the Junior Campus also set national records. First-grade student Inam Malik earned the ‘IBR Achiever’ title by identifying all 195 UN-recognized countries on a world map using their national flags. UKG student Mohammed N achieved ‘IBR Achiever’ status by correctly naming 60 national flags displayed on a screen in just 1 minute and 31 seconds. Meanwhile, Class 3 student Fella Mebak A was named ‘Grand Master’ for spontaneously composing and singing 25 short English poems using prompt words.
School Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Secretary V. Rajapandyan, Executive Committee members, Principal Sanjeev Kumar Dasari, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, and school vice principals congratulated the achievers on their outstanding performance.
