MANAMA: The Syro Malabar Society (SIMS) hosted its annual Onam Mahasadhya with impressive community participation and a rich traditional feast serving nearly 1,000 attendees. Adding to the festive spirit, a musical performance featuring traditional Onam songs was presented under the leadership of SIMS Music Club Convener Kevin Paul.
A vibrant Athapookalam (flower carpet), a depiction of King Mahabali, and a dedicated photo booth organized by the SIMS Ladies Wing—led by President Stephy Arun, Vice President Jincy Leon, and General Secretary Mary Ranjith—proved to be major highlights for visitors. The SIMS Children’s Wing actively assisted in welcoming guests and managing seating arrangements.
The event drew prominent figures from Bahrain’s socio-cultural community, including BFC Marketing Manager Anoop Prasannakumar, Indian Club President Joe Joseph, Indian School Chairman Binu Mannil, former ICRF Chairman Dr. Babu Ramachandran, BMC Managing Director Francis Kaitharath, and KCA President James John.
Key leadership members who directed the event included SIMS President P.T. Joseph, General Secretary Nelson Varghese, Vice President Jimmy Joseph, Finance Secretary Jacob Vazhappilly, Assistant Finance Secretary Jayson Manjali, Joint Secretary Joby Joseph, Membership Secretary Shaji Sebastian, IT Secretary Sibu George, and Entertainment Secretary Sobin Jose, along with Mahasadhya General Convener Roy Joseph and Joint Convener Saju Stephen.
