MANAMA, Bahrain — The Blood Donors Kerala (BDK) Bahrain Chapter conferred the prestigious Vinod Bhaskaran Memorial Award—instituted in memory of BDK founder Vinod Bhaskaran—upon Dr. Amarjit Kaur Sandhu during a ceremony at the KIMSHEALTH Hospital Auditorium in Manama.
Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) President P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai, who attended as the chief guest, jointly presented the award alongside BDK Bahrain Chairman K.T. Salim and President Roji John, commending Dr. Sandhu’s dedicated service to the community.
The event commenced with a solemn condolence tribute to the late Dr. P.V. Cheriyan. Key representatives and community leaders addressed the gathering, including KIMSHEALTH representative Surya Narayanan, Abraham John, Aneesh Sreedharan, Binu Kunnanthanam, Nasser Manjeri, Nizar Kollam, E.V. Rajeevan, Rafeeq Abdulla, O.K. Kasim, Yogesh, Sharaf Kunju, Anil U.K., Rasheed Mahe, Jawad Pasha, Mini Mathew, Dr. Asha, BDK Bahrain Patron T.J. Gireesh, Acting General Secretary Sunil Manavalappil, Acting Treasurer Rajesh Panmana, and Executive Committee Member Fathima Sahla. Other executive members coordinated the logistics, with Vinod Narayanan hosting the proceedings.
As part of the program, Dr. Shyam Sharath, Consultant in Internal Medicine at KIMSHEALTH, conducted an interactive health awareness session on lifestyle diseases, followed by an audience Q&A. Attending guests were also provided with complimentary health check-up and consultation vouchers courtesy of KIMSHEALTH.
