MANAMA: Continuing its dedicated summer outreach to the expatriate workforce, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) successfully conducted the fifth consecutive week of its annual summer awareness and support initiative, “Thirst Quenchers 2026.” The event took place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Amwaj Beach Front project worksite in Amwaj.
Aligning with the Ministry of Labour’s national regulations aimed at ensuring a safe and heat-resilient working environment during the sweltering summer months, the campaign distributed vital refreshments to around 425 workers. The distributed kits included water, juices, laban, and fresh fruits like oranges, apples, and bananas. As a special weekend highlight, all participating workers were also treated to ice cream to help beat the intense midday heat.
This year’s milestone humanitarian campaign is being executed with the active endorsement and support of the Ministry of Labour, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The distribution drive saw active on-site participation from senior ICRF leadership, including Vice Chairman Pankaj Nallur, General Secretary Aneesh Sreedharan, Advisor Aruldas Thomas, and Joint Secretary Javad Pasha. They were joined by Thirst Quenchers Coordinators Chemban Jalal and Ruchi Chakraborthy, alongside other dedicated ICRF officials.
Representing the project site management, Delta Mechanical Services Project Manager Davinder Kumar and Cyprus Cebarco Tabet Project Engineer Christian attended the event, working alongside a group of enthusiastic student volunteers.
As has been the tradition in previous editions of the program, members of the Dawoodi Bohra community and a network of generous local volunteers provided strong logistical and operational support to ensure the seamless execution of the week’s distribution.
