MANAMA: Providing much-needed relief to construction workers braving the intense summer heat, the Bahrain Malayali Business Forum (BMBF) has officially launched the 12th season of its annual corporate social responsibility initiative, the “Help and Drink” campaign. The multi-month drive commenced at two major construction sites in Tubli, continuing the forum’s long-standing tradition of distributing free refreshments and wellness support to outdoor laborers.
The official inauguration ceremony was held under the chairmanship of BMBF General Secretary Basheer Ambalayi and was formally opened by Patron Aneesh K.V.
On the inaugural day, extensive refreshment kits containing drinking water, fresh fruits, light snacks, sandwiches, pancakes, and ice cream were distributed to workers at sites managed by Cebarco and the Al Rashid Group in Tubli. Alongside the distribution of refreshments, BMBF also initiated a summer health awareness campaign across various worksites, educating laborers on essential safety measures and health precautions required during the peak summer months. The 2026 humanitarian project will run through the summer, concluding in September.
BMBF officials noted that the initiative, now in its 12th consecutive year, has garnered significant praise and recognition from various Bahraini ministries, the Capital Governorate, Members of Parliament, and the Ministry of Labour.
Supported widely by citizens, expatriates, corporate entities, clubs, and community associations, the campaign has established itself as one of the most popular grassroots charitable initiatives in the Kingdom’s expatriate community. The opening day operations in Tubli were led by BMBF officials Kasim Padathakayil, Manikuttan, Moideen Payyoli, Moosakutty Haji, Hussain Wayanad, and Dinesh Palliyalil.
