MANAMA: His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, has reaffirmed the governorate’s unwavering commitment to expanding vital development projects, strengthening direct communication channels with residents, and bolstering regional security and stability.
This came during the Governor’s weekly majlis council meeting, which was attended by a number of parliament deputies, municipal dignitaries, prominent local residents, and representatives from civil society institutions. Also present at the meeting were His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Abdul Latif, Chairman of the Municipal Council of the Southern Region Municipality, and His Excellency Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor, alongside several senior officers and governorate officials.
Opening the session, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa welcomed the attendees and emphasized the depth of joint coordination maintained with various government agencies to fulfill the aspirations of the local population. He noted that these efforts directly implement the wise directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and closely align with the continuous follow-up of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Addressing the broader national landscape, the Governor voiced his absolute support for the national security measures taken in the wake of recent external aggression. He praised the sincere, unified efforts made by all security forces and relevant parties to preserve the homeland’s stability and protect citizens and residents alike. His Highness stressed that the cohesion and solidarity currently displayed across the Kingdom reflect Bahrain’s readiness and efficiency in navigating regional developments while successfully preserving its national gains.
Highlighting ongoing infrastructure developments, His Highness emphasized that the governorate is actively tracking the swift execution of essential community projects. Foremost among these are the new multi-purpose events hall projects slated for both Isa Town and Khalifa City, which are designed to host social and national functions and foster community cohesion. He assured residents that cross-departmental coordination is being accelerated to ensure these projects meet local expectations and contribute to long-term sustainable development.
During the open forum, the Governor listened to a series of security, service, and social observations raised by the attendees. He guaranteed that all suggestions would receive diligent follow-up through direct coordination with specialized service agencies to swiftly resolve municipal needs.
Concluding the majlis, the residents expressed their deep appreciation for His Highness’s active presence, accessibility, and persistent efforts in monitoring the developmental and security requirements across all districts of the Southern Governorate.
