MANAMA: The St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Cathedral in Bahrain hosted a mega event marking the valedictory ceremony of the Orthodox Vacational Bible School (OVBS), the official inauguration of the Sunday School’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, and the commencement of its annual Summer Camp.
The solemn ceremony, which marked the conclusion of the children’s spiritual training and value-based learning program, also commemorated 50 years of dedicated service by the Cathedral’s Sunday School in nurturing young minds.
The event commenced with a welcome speech by the Sunday School Headmaster, Mr. George Varghese. The Vicar of the Cathedral, Rev. Fr. ThomasKutty P. N., delivered the presidential address. Felicitations and blessings were offered by the OVBS Director, Rev. Fr. Chris Sebi, Cathedral Trustee Mr. K. P. John, Secretary Mr. Abey Kuruvila, and Staff Secretary Mr. Shiju. The Sunday School Assistant Headmistress expressed gratitude during the vote of thanks.
His Excellency Vinod K. Jacob, the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, graced the occasion as the chief guest. On the sidelines of the event, the Cathedral leadership organized a warm farewell ceremony for the Ambassador and presented him with a special memento in appreciation of his remarkable service and support to the community.
The multi-event gathering witnessed active participation from members of the Cathedral Managing Committee, Sunday School teachers, students, parents, and a large number of parish members.
