BMBF Marks Independence Day with ‘Help and Drink’ Drive for Workers

MANAMA: The Bahrain Malayali Business Forum (BMBF) celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day by extending its signature “Help and Drink” initiative to outdoor laborers working in the heat. As part of the drive, volunteers visited various labor camps to distribute food, refreshments, and fresh fruits.

The project, which provides relief to construction and outdoor workers during the hot summer months, is currently in its 12th season. BMBF General Secretary Basheer Ambalayi inaugurated the special Independence Day distribution drive.

Over the past 12 years, the annual charitable campaign has earned recognition from local ministries, the Capital Governorate, members of parliament, the Ministry of Labor, and the broader community. BMBF officials noted that the 2026 “Help and Drink” campaign will continue through the end of September.
