MANAMA: Vadakara Sahrudaya Vedi convened a memorial service to honor the life and contributions of Damu Koroth, a prominent figure in Bahrain’s socio-cultural scene for over four decades, following his recent passing. Attendees reflected on his deep engagement with the arts and highlighted his demise as an irreparable loss to both the organisation and the broader expatriate community.
Speakers recalled his enduring efforts to promote the cultural heritage of Vadakara within the diaspora.
The meeting was chaired by Vadakara Sahrudaya Vedi President Ashraf N.P., with Secretary M.C. Pavithran delivering the welcome address. Tributes were offered by colleagues Prakash Vadakara, E.V. Rajeevan, Shaji Moothala, Sunil Das, Thomas Philip, Vinayachandran, Babu Kunjiraman, Ajith Kannur, and Anil Kumar Kalathil, along with patrons R. Pavithran, Sashidharan M., Sajeev Pakkayil, Shivadas, and Suresh Mandodi. M.M. Babu extended the vote of thanks.
