Four Students Successfully Transition to Regular Classrooms Following Comprehensive Support Plan
MANAMA: Buri Primary School for Boys has announced the successful full integration of four students with autism into regular academic classes during the current school year. This milestone follows an intensive, multi-phase program designed to develop the students academically, psychologically, and socially within specialized settings before transitioning them into a standard classroom environment.
The school recently celebrated the full integration of its fourth student, Hassan Abdul Aziz Abdul Amir. According to special education teacher Ayman Ahmed Haroun, Hassan’s transition was made possible after he consistently met readiness criteria, demonstrating significant improvements in social interaction and academic potential. The process utilized a gradual approach, moving from partial integration to a full-time presence in the regular curriculum under the guidance of qualified special education staff.
To ensure the success of the transition, learning difficulties specialist Jaafar Abbas Hilal implemented a tailored support plan for the students. This plan focused on strengthening language skills and ensuring their practical application in daily educational scenarios. The school’s leadership emphasized that creating a conducive classroom environment and organized peer activities were essential in helping the students participate with confidence and stability alongside their classmates.
This achievement is part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Education to integrate students with disabilities into government schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The program reflects the Ministry’s commitment to “Education for All,” providing specialized resources that cater to the unique needs of every child while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning culture.
